Restaurants near Philippi Bridge

The food is flavorful and cooked exactly to order. Julie was a fantastic waitress, keeping up with our needs without hovering. Mark was a gracious host. Everyone made us feel welcome. It was a great dining experience.

It’s my birthday and I wanted to share it with my family. There 9 of us and the cost was about $50 per person. Unlike another upscale restaurant we have been to for the celebration, no cake, no mention of why we were there. We sat for 20 minutes before anyone acknowledged our presence. The order was incorrect but they did rectify it immediately. The place was crowded and our table was dark that I had to use the flashlight on my phone to see the menu. The food was alright but slightly cold mashed potatoes. It was a memorable evening and I will cherish spending time with my family but I think for the price I paid, I could have at the very least been treated a little better.

Menu, atmosphere, and staff were great! Javi was our server and he is quite entertaining. When you go thru the main entrance at Mountain Lodge, take the elevator down to floor ‘CC.’ Turn left off the elevator, pass the stairs, and go thru the door.

Another great meal yesterday evening at the Oxley House in Elkins West Virginia. Both the Appalachian Burgoo and Pork Chop were great. Cudos to the chef and kitchen staff. Dining at the Oxley House is becoming a weekly event for us.

Good food, good service and great company. Enjoyed.
