Situated in Forest Hills, Queens, our cozy venue is inspired by the idea of exhibiting the essential manifestations of pre-Hispanic Peruvian art and offering a culinary experience full of history and flavor. Our goal is to engage with the community and make them proud of our commitment to high-quality food and service, with a diverse menu that ranges from the famous ceviche to different preparations of meats, sauces, and drinks. Our beverages range from popular Peruvian soft drinks, like the purple corn lemonade, to creative cocktails prepared with exotics fruits from all over the continent and the national liqueur of Peru: El Pisco. This colorless spirit made of grape juice has become the “next big thing” in the US, and we are taking it to the next level by infusing it with fruits such as golden berries, passion fruit, pineapple, and ginger. K’antu’s signature cocktail menu is full of unique tastes. of meats, sauces, and “Pisco” signature drinks, a Peruvian brandy.

Tonight, I had the extraordinary pleasure of dining at MELI, and it was nothing short of a Mediterranean masterpiece! From the moment I walked in, the restaurant’s lively energy, warm lighting, and chic decor set the tone for an unforgettable culinary experience. We began with an irresistible array of appetizers—golden, tender calamari and kolokythokeftedes that were crisp on the outside, yet bursting with flavor on the inside. Each bite was a perfect introduction to what was yet to come. For my main course, I chose the lamb chops, and they were simply divine. Perfectly cooked, impossibly tender, and infused with aromatic spices, they were paired with golden Greek fries that added just the right crunch. My friend’s veal chop was equally impressive—rich, succulent, and layered with mouthwatering flavor. The service elevated the entire evening. George, our server, was an absolute delight—attentive, warm, and a true wine aficionado. His recommendations paired so perfectly with our meal that it felt like the flavors danced together. And then, the grand finale: baklava. Sweet, flaky, and drenched in just the right amount of honey, it was the ultimate indulgence to end an extraordinary dinner. MELI isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a destination for Mediterranean food lovers. If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out on a true gem.

Solid 4 stars for Kantu Peruvian. This spot pulls off feeling fresh and modern, yet homey and warm at the same time. The colorful, well-thought-out decor could almost feel upscale, while the vibe, staff and menu are relaxed and familiar. On all visits we found the staff on point; attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, but no pressure. We saw lots of families at large tables, clearly having a great time. All menu items are prepared with care, fresh and delicious. Prices are reasonable - without drinks $40pp within reach. We love and enjoy their sangria, Pisco sours and other signature cocktails. There are drink specials and happy hour deals so if you're on a budget, suggest looking into them. Have had no issues finding free parking on the street. Recommend!
