Their friendship and working relationship, which has lasted over 20 years was so successful, they decided to pool their resources and stake a claim in downtown Napa's expanding culinary scene. Their aim was to create their own version of classic world cuisine in a comfortable space where family and community could gather for any occasion. Chef Hakan is a second-generation baker who learned his craft in his uncle's bakery in Istanbul. His love for baking started out with making pastries and sourdough bread at first. Hit by a pizza obsession later on, similar to Anatolian flatbread, Chef Hakan studied, experimented, and observed various pizza-making methods. He participated in pizza expos, visited pizza restaurants, and tasted different styles of pizza around the world until buying a nice wood-fired pizza oven and creating his own recipe.Then time came for Hakan to open up his restaurant. Previously known as Napa Baking Company is now serving in Napa as Croccante. Chef Hakan offers long-fermented Pan-style Detroit and Chicago thin tavern style pizza.     Tim, our very wonderful server, is clearly and seasoned, professional server. He and his staff knew when to be present and when to leave us alone. No rush felt. We ate in the outdoor 'tent' during a good rainstorm which was wonderful. Plenty of heaters, very warm and dry and the sound of rain over the sound of diners was perfect for the holidays. The food and drinks were outstanding and all the staff we engaged were professional, warm and friendly. We will definitely be back!

    Bar Lucia has become one our favorites in Napa! A must stop for lunch or a break in the afternoon! The food is excellent; this time we enjoyed the roast chicken sandwich and the bacon avocado panini. So good! The wine choices are above average; there are some boutique winery options along with some of the upper end names too. And the froze’? Yes please!! But one of the best things about Bar Lucia is Lauren behind the counter!! She knows everyone, and a lot of locals stop by which is the best recommendation for a place in the midst of a tourist destination!
