Izakaya Den is Denver’s popular Japanese gastropub, modeled after the lively after hours establishments found throughout Japan. The restaurant is located on South Pearl Street and is the second restaurant of the Kizaki brothers, founders and owners of Sushi Den. The menu is arranged in a tapas style, serving traditional Japanese small plates along with dishes infused with international flavors and textures. This restaurant is fantastic: lovely and lively ambiance, but not too loud. The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. We had an unusual bottle of wine and the sommelier clearly knows what she is doing. The price was very reasonable. Would go back in a second!

Had a so so experience two years ago. Decided to try it again, per friends’ recommendation. This time everything was amazing. Highly recommend the Waygu strip and Delmonico Ribeye. Service was spot on too. The only slight disconnect was the ambient music. Kinda upbeat dance EMD feel. Was expecting more mellow background music. But that is very minor to the overall experience. Can’t wait for the next visit. Highly recommend!
