- MMichaelVIPSeattle / Eastern Washington •14 reviews5.0Dined 6 days agoThe service was great, warm and welcoming, attentive but not interruptive. The food was above average. My husband had the halibut, he said it was very good but my rib eye - oh my gosh it was cooked perfectly. It had a sauce. Supposedly truffle, but I didn’t get that overwhelming truffle flavor so the actual flavor of the steak came through and it was scrumptious. I only wish it had been a bit larger but was perfectly satisfied. They must have a new chef, because this was above and beyond. You made my husbands birthday extra special and renewed my faith that Redding can be a foodie town after all. It was great, our table was reserved, server was excellent and food was delicious. I was glad they were open and this was an option for our family. - AAndreaSan Francisco Bay Area •16 reviews4.0Dined on 25 Dec 2024The food was very good and served hot. The bread rolls could have been heated longer; as it was, they were not even warm in the middle and felt liked they might have been microwaved to warm them up. I was expecting a nice crusty exterior with a tender interior that would melt butter. That didn't happen. My stroganoff was delicious and the meat was very tender, The noodles (actually fettuccini) could have been cooked a bit longer. I had enough left over for a meal for two which was nice. My hubby's pork chop was tender, but a bit on the dry side. The asparagus that accompanied his chop were perfectly prepared and very tender. The potatoes au gratin were swimming in butter, and he bypassed those. We shared a creme brulee for dessert and it was excellent and came with a cute green macaron stuck in the middle of it. The ambience was perfect us as we prefer a quiet dining experience, and the service was very good as well. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and were happy the restaurant was open for Christmas Eve as not any of the really good restaurants in Chico were. We understand the menu will soon be changed and we are looking forward to revisiting restaurant when the new menu is in place.More infoSafirePrice: Expensive• Steakhouse• Live Oak (Sutter County)•4.2

The prime rib egg’s Benedict was fantastic! Breakfast potatoes were also very good. They had gluten free bread which was nice for me.More infoThe Grill - ChicoPrice: Expensive• American• Chico•4.4
