Restaurants near Milanville Historic District

As always the Eldred Preserve did not disappoint. The duck was the better than ever and the Frenched chicken was great. The staff goes over and beyond to make sure everything is perfect. The only downside is some of the patrons not knowing how to dress which is unfortunate because the restaurant is more upscale. Jeans, baseball caps, gym shorts…… not the place for it.

We have dinner at the ridge at least once a week and whenever we have guests visiting, we are sure to take them to the ridge for a special treat! The food, service, and atmosphere never disappoint!

First, let me start with the food, it was phenomenal, it never disappoints. That being said service was not up to the standard for the restaurant. The bar service is always wonderful, the young man who served us our drinks was amazing and the bar never disappoints. Our waitress decided that she was in a rush, she brought out plates individually so that some people had food while others waited which made the entire experience very uncomfortable. Same experience for the dessert. Why not wait to plate the whole table? The restaurant was not busy, there were open tables at the time. She also decided to take my son's plate before he was done, he actually had to ask her to bring it back, as well as taking my drink before it was done. A fine dining establishment should train their staff to not steal every single piece off the table when it seems like it is no longer being used, being European in a European restaurant that should be understood. I would like to enjoy my food in peace, and not feel rushed. I felt like I was at a diner.

Lets start with the good. From the start. 8PM res. they needed a few min to get us a table so we ordered drinks. We both got the Seasonal Mules my daughter got the Esspresso martini. All excellent. The APPs we got the Burratta. Amazing. I got the 8OZ filet. It was small but on point. Cooked and seasoned perfectly. The house steak sauce is outstanding. Seemed like a demi with some balsamic. My wife and the 2 kids got the NY strip 2 of the 3 where good. One was honestly not up to par. It tasted like a piece of meat from shoprite. Very little marbling and it had a large fat cap. None to me where what I would consider high end aged "prime" beef. More like butcher grade choice. I would have complained but my wife and kids ate it and enjoyed it for the most part. But I had a NY Strip from outback last week that was far better. The loaded potato was great. The waiter Tim made the expierience a great one.Had it not been for him I would have demanded a new steak at least for my wife. Since I ate half of it. After the filet. It was a huge let down. Dessert was great. Marscapone Cheesecake was great. Although I dont believe it was made with marscapone except the shot they put on top. Regard less it was great. The chocolate cake my kids said was outstanding.
