Restaurants near Maplewood Golf Course

Festively Decorated for the Christmas Holidays. Can't be more convenient then to literally be next door to Papermill Playhouse. Service outstanding thanks to Giovanna. Started with Holiday Cocktails - Maple Old Fashioned and White Christmas Martini - Creamy Parsnip and Hazlenut Soup was delicious and perfect start on a chilly night. My wife and I both enjoyed the Braised Short Ribs - melted in your mouth. Capped it all off with an after dinner drink and on to the show. Chef checked in on us and told us about upcoming events in January which we will surely attend.

We went before a show and the restaurant filled up quickly. I had their soup special, pumpkin with asparagus which was delicious. But my Entree was even more fabulous. I ordered the Spaghetini Arrabiato and I’m still regretting that I couldn’t finish it! It was so delicious. The restaurant is BYOB which we didn’t know. But we were able to walk less than a block and pick up a bottle of wine. I would completely recommend this place.

Nice friendly restaurant. I would go back. I would not get the beef short rib. I thought it would be one large short rib. It was little quarter size pieces of short rib sprinkled throughout the gnocchi. Didn’t taste the truffle oil that it said it came with

Our reservation was for 6 people and we came at 5pm. The first impression was that they were not prepared as the hostess was not there, someone else tried to help us instead, restaurant was completely empty and staff was still setting tables:). Then we realized that actually they were just opening and we were the first customers coming a bit too early😊. After 5:30 the restaurant was full of people and very energetic! Food was good, everyone liked their choices, even the cappuccino at the end tasted like an Italian coffee. Although a little pricey for a NJ restaurant, the overall experience was very good and we enjoyed every minute there.

Very helpful staff and attentive. Properly staffed for the size of restaurant which is important. Food quality exceeds the cost of the dishes. Very high quality ingredients and creative. The pasta was cooked perfectly. The lasagna had a great flavor profile, the bolognese was good but the sauce was not as robust as the lasagna which made it not as exciting to eat. The calamari/zucchini was perfectly fried and the aioli was good but this restaurant is in NJ and NEEDS a GOOD Marinara to dip. The Diovola pizza had some kick not too crazy but still spicy enough. Overall great restaurant addition to NJ !
