Restaurants near Lomas Santa Fe Plaza Shopping Center

The restaurant is a kind of an awkward layout but it is beautifully decorated. I love the presentation of the seafood & kitchen and the transparency of the pastry kitchen. Service is impeccable here and my server was so cheerful. My group loved the chicken-fried lobster; thought it was the sweetest lobster. The 12 oz filet mignon was perfection as were the side of mushrooms. I had the Chilean sea bass last week and it was the best Chilean sea bass that I've ever had (and I've had my fair share) in both terms of cut and quality; not as good this time as it was a bit fishy and it was a smaller cut. Dessert was great. Their pastry chefs are so creative. We loved the presentation of the beignets on the tree and the triple chocolate bombe. The key lime pie was delicious! All and all, a very enjoyable night out!

I don’t know why I’ve never reviewed South of Nick’s before, but this is hands-down one of my all-time favorite places! They never disappoint. If I’m anywhere near South of Nick’s—or even two hours away—I’ll make the trip without hesitation. Today, we were lucky to have Nadia as our server, and she was fantastic! Attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely amazing. As for the food—wow. I had the Chilean Seabass, and as always, it was perfection. My husband ordered the Steak Chimichanga, upgraded with a Lobster Enchilada and beans—absolutely fantastic! We also couldn’t resist starting with the Shrimp Taquitos alongside the incredible black beans, salsa trio, and fresh tortilla chips. To top it off, I ordered the Shrimp Cabo to go, because why not extend the deliciousness to later? Every single thing we had was bursting with flavor and perfectly executed. South of Nick’s consistently delivers a phenomenal dining experience, and I can’t recommend it enough. If you haven’t been yet, go—you’re in for a treat!

Food was great. Service was good, but the waiter seemed to have forgotten about us for a bit and I had to flag someone down to go get him. Anyway, it’s a very minor complaint. I had the Chilean Sea Bass and my date had the ahi tuna. Both great. Glad they accommodated my dairy allergy and my date’s gluten sensitivity. Great ambience and views also. I’m glad I went and hopefully will be back!

We dine at Jake’s often, so decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary here for lunch. The fish special was tasty, and the fish and chips the best I’ve had at Jake’s. The staff welcomed us to a table reserved for especially for us and our anniversary. We enjoyed the booth and sea views while sipping sangria. We were given free choice of a dessert on the house, so we picked the Hula pie of course! Thank you Jake’s for making our day special.

Nice setting, but it can be loud and difficult to have conversation around the table.
