- AAndrewGreater Boston •6 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoWe have been take-out and dine-in customers here for many years, essentially since they first opened, and have dined at most of the major restaurants in the Amherst-Northampton area. In terms of the quality of food, service, ambience, consistency, etc., we think Johnny's is the best restaurant in this area.More infoJohnny's TavernPrice: Moderate• American• Amherst•4.6
- KKaraGreater Boston •12 reviews5.0Dined on 15 Dec 2024Made reservation for birthday dinner. We were welcomed promptly into a room warmed by a crackling fire. We decided to have dinner in the tavern bar area. Our server and bartender, Patrick was friendly, engaging, interesting and provided excellent service. The food was delicious- home-made pasta! The drinks were expertly concocted and the salad was perfect. Will definitely return soon! A gem on the hill overlooking Wilmington, VT and environs! - NNancy ElizabethVIPGreater Boston •12 reviews5.0Dined on 15 Dec 2024We are always looking for a place for Sunday Brunch. In our area brunch is seasonal and during this visit it was the first Sunday brunch of ski season. We were so pleased they were open! The kitchen gave us an outstanding brunch - perfectly cooked eggs and steak, delicious hollandaise, lux salads and a special chocolate desert for my mom, turning 92. We celebrate her birthdays now with as many adventures and lovely food experiences as we can and Hermitage is first on the list. The staff and the owner of the Hermitage always make their guests feel special. We found the perfect bottle of wine in their extensive cellars and enjoyed our experience immensely. The snowfield view out the windows and the cozy atmosphere of the Tavern room provided us with the perfect place for a good old fashioned family catch up. Our waitress was just delightful and the owner opened our wine for us and chatted a bit. Thank you Hermitage. We will come back for brunch as long as you offer it this season. There is nothing that comes close in the area.More infoThe Hermitage InnPrice: Expensive• American• Dover•4.5
