we had read reviews, and also been recommended to make a visit. Firstly Folkestone itself was a total surprise to us, and we urge you to visit if you have never been before, and secondly in a town of some exceptional restaurants, Rocksalt stands high above others. The location on the bank of the harbour is stunning both day and night. We entered through the bar and had a cheeky cocktail, which was well made, and not crazy prices. Then downstairs to the restaurant and our table could not get much closer to the harbour. The greeting of all the staff was genuine and warm, and the whole process of going through the menus and ordering was as simple as it could be when trying to choose from some amazing choises. The quality, freshness and execution of every dish was top shelf, and we thank the whole restaurant and kitchen for giving such a great evening.

This was our second time visiting. We loved this pub, the food is excellent and interesting. Stand out meals the scotch egg, the mushroom starter and the Filipino tart Devine! The waitress who was there again last night ( sorry forget her name) is lovely, she knows the menu and is efficient but not invasive. Such a lovely lady. Well done we will definitely be back!

I honestly couldn’t recommend this place any more. Service is definitely what makes it stand out. Every customer is made to feel special. Due to this if ever I did have an experience that was not up to their normal standards I wouldn’t even think about complaining. Food has always been top notch so have never had to but if I ever visited and it was under par it would still be better than most places around. If this day ever came the service you receive would make you feel guilty to complain. Too many places are happy to take your money and let lifeless people serve your food. Never disappoints.

Warm welcome and seated at very nice table. Excellent service and all were very patient with two restless children from my group. Very pleasant and friendly time. Thank you.

The waiting staff were excellent, friendly and helpful but not at all intrusive. The food was very good, all three of us had different main courses and each was delicious. I can highly recommend this restaurant.
