Bistro Eté is everything you long for in a restaurant tucked away in a quaint spot in The Mill Center. Transformed by Interior Designer Karen Gorman to reflect an understated chic and comfortable style that transports you to the Coast of France. This unpretentious dining experience celebrates food and wine in a setting for all the senses yet does not compete with the flavors. Chef Arie, inspired by his Cypriot heritage, formal training at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris and his years working under Two Star Michelin Chef Philippe Da Silva in Provence, presents cuisine reflective of this coastal style. Longtime customers can still indulge in his classic dishes such as escargot, striped bass with champagne truffle sauce and his own dry aged steaks. Of course Chef Arie’s menu will include many mouthwatering vegan and vegetarian dishes driven by altering his favorite recipes for his vegetarian wife.

Maitre D' (?) was exceptional. He greeted us promptly, informed us that our reserved table was not ready ( we were early,) and escorted us to the bar for a drink. The mixologist concocted a perfect Olde Fashioned and actually brought it to us in the sitting room in front of the fire. Within 5 minutes we were escorted to our table, again in front of a cozy fire. Music played in the background, a little loud (just a bit) and perhaps an odd mix of tunes for an elegant setting. Since we had our drink order the server took our starter and main requests. Unfortunately, we, unlike every other guest, did not receive a bread basket. We did ask for one after our starters arrived, but it never showed up. Our mains were perfectly cooked. My wife had the steak ( medium rare) and I had the short ribs. My wife had asked that the fried potatoes be changed to mashed but we were told that substitutions were not possible. That was off-putting at these prices. Dessert was chocolate mousse and coffee for the lady and I opted for the double Irish coffee. The mousse arrived without even being noticed as it was placed in the center of the table. A goblet of mousse without a supporting plate, classless. The Irish coffee was outstanding, again thanks to the mixologyist. All in all a pleasant evening. Maybe a little more attention to small details would elevate the experience to the next level.

Dimon Estate is a really lovely place! It has old world charm and a big bonus is that the tables are nicely spaced so you don't feel cramped as one can in many other restaurants. The menu is seasonal although favorites from the previous season were updated to reflect Autumn availability. There are many options to enjoy. We had the eggplant parmigiana (with added shrimp) and shrimp scampi. Of note, the scampi was more of a shrimp marinara over pasta but it was delicious in any event. The service was quite good. Were love bread and wish that they provided some although the portions were ample so we didn't really need it! We will definitely be going back.

We went for my early Birthday Weekend. We stayed next door at the Soundview-also highly recommend! The service, atmosphere and the AMAZING food are always such a pleasure! The bar is also a fun spot to go after or before. We will definitely be back again. We love to make a day trip out of coming here too.
