Bata is a restaurant designed to celebrate the best our region has to offer. We cook over a live oak fire, on our custom fabricated hearth. Our menu changes daily. We mill AZ grown grain in house, daily. We focus on whole animal butchery, done in house. We have an extensive fermentation program. Our bar program largely focuses on wines that are organic, biodynamic, and produced with minimal intervention. The cocktail list highlights the best products of the season, with a carefully curated list of spirits from across the globe. We believe that our hospitality is just as important as the food and beverages we put on the table. We do not encourage our restaurant for young children. We do not have any highchairs in house and ask that you please bring your own if it is required. We do not offer any outdoor seating.     Some of the most creative and delicious food we have eaten in years. The striped bass with chimichurri and parsnip purée was incredible as was the roasted squash salad and steak skewers! The server, Helen, was very helpful and knowledgeable. Also, a great wine list.

    I ordered the 3 course meal expecting it to be good with perhaps one menu item being exceptional. ALL were EXCEPTIONAL. Having had the privilege of traveling and dining globally, I would rate this meal the best of any I've experienced. Service was superb.

    An excellent choice if you are in Tucson. The pizza and starters are really 5 star and you can watch your pizza get fired in their massive oven. Our servers were really great and we had some nice conversations over the course of the night. The drink choices and a great selection of beers helped the conversation flow. Prices were very reasonable all around. We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended!!

    OBON is my new go to place for flavorful and memorable Japanese food or anytime I'm downtown showing off the restaurant to friends.. Chef Anthony has the best ramen in town. I especially loved the mushroom broth vegetarian option and wish I had more edamame hummus to take home. Angelina greeted us warmly and shared enthusiasm for the menu offerings. Our service was exceptional and Brady guided us through the menu with his recommendations. I can't wait to return.
