Focusing predominately on fresh local seafood with a French, Lowcountry flare, Charlie’s is the place for good food, good wine and unforgettable memories all enjoyed in a quaint French country atmosphere.A Savannah native, Charlie Golson’s interest in the French language and culture took him to Paris. After a long stint in the fast paced hotel kitchens of Washington DC, he was ready to move back closer to home. It was at that time he was able to open up a one room French bistro. The restaurant has grown over the years, but the ‘Green Star’ remains steadfast in offering the finest ingredients the Low country has to offer with a menu that is hand written daily. Resort Casual.

Great meal beginning to end. Friendly helpful servers, off the charts food - beef tenderloin, lamb meatloaf, grilled Caesar salad one of the best ever. Was tempted by the tuna special but the meat will provide better leftovers - huge portions.

Our party of three were seated in the dining area in the front, next to the bar. I think this must be ‘overflow’? It was lively, which was to expected, but there was a loud table of four birthday revelers next to us (not in the bar) who were very loud. So this is why the noise level rating is higher than normal. We ordered small salads as starters, then enjoyed shrimp and grits, filet with truffle frites and my daughter had sashimi and the mahi roll. Everyone’s meal was delicious! Our server was great too, choosing a smooth cabernet as I requested to go with the filet. It was a excellent meal out with family. Thanks.

A solid go-to in Charleston. Whether you are entertaining out of town guests, there for a romantic evening, a special celebratory gathering or really just want a fantastic meal in a great atmosphere -- Church and Union is the place. The vibe captivates you before you even take a seat; the service is attentive without being overbearing, and everything on the menu is spectacular. (I've been there enough to know!) Everything about Church and Union will be a memorable experience that you absolutely shouldn't miss.....a feast for the eyes and the palate. Don't sit on this one -- just go.

The Ribaut Social Club was the perfect place to celebrate our 39th anniversary. Chef Robert prepared a delicious meal. My husband and I shared the tomato and burrata appetizer and a healthy yet tasty salad with apples and field greens and other goodies. For entrees, I had the chicken Marsala and my husband had the pork chop which was the most tender pork chop he’s ever tasted. Both entrees were perfectly seasoned. For dessert we had a vanilla crème custard with fresh berries. Sarah provided excellent service, and the bar tender made a delicious mocktail for my husband and apparently specializes in this which makes it nice for those who prefer a non-alcoholic beverage. The setting is fantastic! We sat outside on the porch where we could see the sun setting over the bay. We highly recommend going to this unique restaurant in the historic Anchorage Inn.
