Fantastic dinner. A great spot for any celebration or a casual meal. Service was great, food was exceptional, and the building itself is wonderful. I look forward to coming back in the summer. Don’t miss the espresso martinis, they were perfection. We enjoyed the cod, the salmon, and the chicken supreme. All dishes were good portion sizes, fresh ingredients, beautifully prepared and presented. The flavours were delightful, and each dish was expertly curated. We had a fantastic time and This restaurant will become one of my most recommended for the area.

Absolutely Outstanding! The service at The Common Stove is hands down the best I’ve experienced in a long time. From the moment we walked in, we felt genuinely welcomed and well taken care of. The food? Absolutely amazing—every dish was crafted to perfection. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the owners. They are incredibly genuine and clearly prioritize both their guests and their team. It’s refreshing to see a business where the owners trust their staff to do their jobs without micromanaging, and it shows in the seamless, top-tier experience they provide. Highly recommend!

Lovely place for a date! Was kindly welcomed and seated, and promptly served. The food was outstanding! I had the hanger steak with truffle fries and local mushrooms, the steak arrived medium rare as requested and the chimichurri complemented the steak very well. My date got the pasta of the day which she enjoyed as well. The drinks and desserts should not be missed either. The house cocktails were very nice and the creme brulee and chocolate mousse were phenomenal. I generally dont go for desserts but the mousse was so good youd be foolish not to try it.

This is my girlfriends and mine favourite spot in Barrie, we like it because it seems almost like a hidden gem, it’s always packed so it’s clearly not hidden, but we love the patio in the summer. We always have a great experience. Very sad to hear this location is closing temporarily, and we will have to find a new location for the summer. We find also the park place vibes to be too noisy with the amount of traffic from the highway right beside, we try to avoid restaurants in this area. Fingers crossed that you can replicate the same atmosphere in the south end, you will be missed in the North end. Thank you for many great memories. Only complaint from our last visit, my girlfriend got the vegan tacos with tortilla chips and there was only 6-7 chips on the plate. Usually there is 2-2.5 times as many.
