Great experience celebrating two family birthdays. Our server, Dustin, was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient! He had my granddaughters wrapped around his little finger. Food was delicious, wine service was right on. It’s always a little loud, but that didn’t stop us from having a great evening at Sammie’s!

Excellent food, service, ambience and location in downtown Austin. Great menu and Italian wine selection. Highly recommend.

I don’t leave reviews often, but I feel I need to praise J Carvers for an exceptional experience last night. Everything was amazing. We had 5 at our table and all of us wanted to try several menu items so the waiter said we could order the dishes and share (family style) and it was perfect. We tried the filet to share, short rib ravioli and Dover sole dishes as entrees. Some of us got 2 oysters each and we split a few salads for appetizers. We also shared a few sides. The food was fantastic and just the right amount for all of us to get a sample of the menu. Perfection. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Went with a small group for holiday lunch and had a great time. Food was excellent as always, Garrett was a terrific server and the environment was great for our group to celebrate. Thanks again!

I rarely take the time to write reviews but this one really deserves it. We hail from San Francisco so we weren't expecting much from an Italian restaurant in Austin. We were blown away. We ordered the snapper and special pasta (chicken filled ravioli.) The snapper was cooked on their plancha and retained it's moistness. The pasta is on the top five list of pastas I have ever had in my life. I think they must have used smoked chicken from their wood burning grill. We weren't in the mood for beef, but wish we were as everything that was coming off that grill looked over the top good. We were fortunate enough to be sat at the kitchen counter (or they accidentally gave away our table for 2 and had to seat us there) so we had a front row seat to the magic that was coming out of the kitchen. This is kind of a nerdy comment, but the expediter gets an A+. They had a very large party upstairs (like 8 family style dishes at a time) and some how he was able to get all the other food out in a timely manner.
