- BBennyVIPNew York City •10 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoI had an incredible experience! The service was outstanding, and the food was fantastic—truly authentic Thai cuisine with some delightful modern twists that captured the true flavors of Thailand. The owner was very welcoming, and it's heartwarming to see a family-run establishment. We started with the Tom Yum soup, which was perfectly spicy and loaded with large shrimp. The Pad Thai was a highlight, featuring a whole chicken leg and thigh that were cooked to perfection. The ribs were also a treat, glazed with a tangy sauce that was simply delicious. The drinks were equally impressive! To access the restaurant, you walk through a modern cafe/bakery, giving it a speakeasy vibe. However, the location was a bit tricky to find, as it’s situated across from the theatre on Carlton, underneath a condo building on south side of Carlton . Improved signage would definitely help. Highly recommend visiting will be going back !More infoLe LertPrice: Moderate• Thai• Downtown Windsor•4.6
- JJeanneToronto / Ontario •6 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoService was excellent! The servers were sweet and attentive . Food was 90% fabulous overall quality was excellent! Cod was buttery and flavorful Karate chicken was perfect not greasy yet crispy Great down to 1 thing - the torched Aburi sushi was too thin of fish with too much sauce on top, either lighter on the sauce or thicken the fish on top a bit more to give it a bit of balance on taste or else it is too oily hitting the palette. Overall enjoyable and yummy experienceMore infoKINKA IZAKAYA ORIGINALPrice: Expensive• Japanese• Church-Wellesley•4.6

- MDMattDWashington, D.C. Area •1 review5.0Dined on 2 Sept 2023The restaurant is upstairs in a row home. When you first walk in, there is an small waiting area to sit with two bar sections. The bar in the front of the house is reserved for sushi omakase and the bar in the back of the house is reserved for tempura omakase. Music was composed of light jazz which allowed for silent reflection with each dish while also engaging conversation with company. All ingredients for the meal were imported from Japan. Tempura Omakase was $195 CAD and consists of a 5-pieces sashimi, 7-courses of different Japanese seafood tempura, a fruit aperitif, 4-course vegetable tempura, and a dessert. The tempura came with a choice of 4 sauces - lightly salted dried garlic, matcha salt, kombu salt, and tentsuyu (tempura sauce). The chef will recommend which sauce accompanies the current ingredient. The pairing did not disappoint. As an added bonus, the chef may throw in an extra dish that he is piloting. In my case, he threw in a stuffed shiitake mushroom that was filled with sashimi. Pro-tip: if you pay with cash, you get a 15% discount. (NOTE: Please pay the full amount so that the deserving staff could make a decent living.) Overall impression: I did not know that tempura could be so luxurious and tastes so decadent. This was the epitome of Japanese cuisine - careful thought and attention that maximizes the experience of each ingredient. This experience has changed the way I view tempura. This was aided by how funny and charismatic the chef was. 10/10 experience. I will always come back when visiting Toronto.More infoKiyomi - Tempura BarPrice: Very Expensive• Tempura• Leslieville / Riverdale•4.6
