The name “Amylos” denotes our passion for food and bringing to you Greece’s authentic flavors. We carefully chose the most original recipes ranging from various regions in Greece; starting from the southern Aegean islands to the northern mainland, each region has its own unique take on cooking. Amylos, meaning the “building blocks of food”, is synonymous to our concept of building a sustainable menu created from pure raw materials, attention to detail, nonnegotiable standards, and ingredients of the finest quality. Complete your pallet by indulging in our selective wine list which takes you through a journey of the old to new world. This, coupled with warm and friendly service, and our inviting, cozy ambiance are what make up the ingredients of Amylos’ recipe for “philoxenia”. Our concept is to honor the traditional Greek flavors and hospitality combined with the allure of modern presentation in a contemporary setting.

First time going to the Plaza Hotel for afternoon tea. Pleasantly surprised with the quality and service considering the mixed reviews. Sandwiches were delicious and there seemed to be endless tea in the teapot. Mary was amazing at making this experience memorable! She was super nice, informative, and great at anticipating what works for us! Would definitely go back.

We were so pleased with our first visit to Carmine's. My husband and I usually travel to NYC alone, and have never gone before because we heard how large the portions are - and they are NOT kidding. There were 7 of us for dinner, and we shared a Caesar Salad, Cheesy Garlic Bread, Rigatoni Bolognese, Eggplant Parm, Veal Scallopini, and Tiramisu and it was perfect portions. Only thing we took home was the Garlic Bread (which the 19-year-old scarfed down likely before it made it to the hotel fridge.) Paul our server was fantastic - happy to see our family reunion the day after Christmas with family from Myrtle Beach. The restaurant is crowded and loud, so expect that - but it's a fun environment and you can tell it's mostly families just having a great time. This dinner capped off a perfect day celebrating the 19-year-old's first Broadway Show.

This is my 2nd time here. I made reservations weeks ahead of time due to the holiday. I was only able to get outside lobby area. Upon arrival I asked if anything was available inside and they had high top bar seating available at their “seafood bar”. I was with my friend and our daughters under twenty one. Since it was freezing they wanted the inside. We had no trouble talking and the view from this spot was nice. Our server Dorji was EXCELLENT. He was very attentive to our needs and made great suggestions on drinks. We decided on the espresso martini and it was perfect. Our arrival was before 6 so the prix fix was available and you definitely get a lot for your money. The salad was okay but the French onion soup was wonderful and really hit the spot on a cold day. Two of us had the coq au vin and that was delicious. My friend had the steak and was happy. My daughter ordered the NY strip off the regular menu. She loved the fries, enjoyed the steak but said the cut was a little tough. We had crème brûlée which was a wonderful way to end the meal. The location of the restaurant is perfect if you are in town for the holidays. The place was decorated beautifully as well.

Amazing holiday classic! The decor is just amazing- beautifully decorated for the holidays. The food was equally amazing. We had the tomahawk steak special with three included sides. The steak was delicious and perfectly cooked. The lobster Mac and cheese and vegetables were delicious and the presentation was worthy of photos which didn’t do it justice. The service was friendly but efficient. We will be back.
