We are a country Gastropub owned by farmers. Our farm supplies the beef, lamb and pork and we source other ingredients from local producers where we can. Our small seasonal menu changes regularly reflecting what is available in our area. We pride ourselves on being very much a country pub, offering freshly prepared seasonal food and a warm welcome. Reassuringly good as usual. The smoked salmon starter melted in my mouth. My duck curry was good but I didn’t enjoy it as much as a prawn curry I’ve had there in the past. Always lovely ambience and wonderful service.

It was a quiet Monday night so nice to find somewhere in Hastings open. Not too many people there but just enough for it to feel lively-ish. Staff were friendly and kind to our dog. Service very good. The food was delicious. There were 3 of us, 2 had the venison with trimmings, very flavoursome. The other had the ham and eggs which was also very good. Wine also nice.
