- GGaryvipSan Francisco Bay Area •109 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoFantastic food in decent portions, friendly service. Listening to "Closing time" song 4 times as we and other patrons were getting ready to leave, was a bit unwelcoming, especially as it was 15 mins before closing time. Tho a fun sing along for our group.More infoStarbellyPrice: Moderate• American• The Castro•4.5

- WWendySan Francisco Bay Area •2 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoUpon arrival, we were promptly seated and prepared for dinner. The restaurant's cleanliness and organization were immediately apparent. Although the rear seating area became uncomfortably warm, and bathroom access was limited due to high demand, the outstanding cuisine made up for these drawbacks. The Butcher's platter, generously portioned for four guests, was a highlight, and its delicious flavors ensured a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience.More infoBlind ButcherPrice: Expensive• Californian• The Castro•4.5

- MMeredithSan Francisco Bay Area •1 review5.0Dined 5 days agoWe came to Canela for a family birthday dinner and we had a fantastic time! We ended up being 15 minutes late and the hostess (who was also our server) was so kind about it. We had some dietary restrictions in our party (gf, vegetarian) and our server was great about letting us know what size dish she recommended for how many people would partake and reminding us which dishes people could eat when they came to the table. We ended ordering maybe 12 to 15 items and everything came out swiftly but well paced. And the food was amazing! We especially loved the fried chicken, the mushrooms, the cheese plate and the garlic shrimp. There was no dish that wasn’t enjoyable and the drinks were delicious too! Very inventive cocktails and a delightful wine list. As it was a birthday meal, they brought out a dessert with a candle and little happy birthday chocolate medallion. All three desserts we got were absolutely delicious, and the olive oil cake despite being gluten free was so moist and fudgy and delicious. My family can be a little overwhelming and the waitstaff was so accommodating and kind. The vibe is very warm and inviting and comfortable and not too noisy for my hard of hearing parents. Overall the whole experience was immensely enjoyable and I’d definitely recommend Canela to anyone and everyone!!More infoCanela Bistro & Wine BarPrice: Expensive• Spanish• The Castro•4.8
