Restaurants near Avenue (Charlotte)

Fabulous way to spend Thanksgiving, something for everyone and everything was delicious! The only downside was being seated by the door, as it was a windy and kinda chilly day, we got hit with a blast of cold air every time the door opened. It wasn’t enough to make us ask to change tables or anything. Just something to note.

I went on a daddy daughter day and it was amazing who came out and record time. The ambience was amazing. I will be returning.

Friends and I dined the day before a holiday, so the restaurant was quiet since it was not busy. The food was delicious. A friend and I had the lobster bisque as a starter, and it was loaded with lobster meat pieces. I had a 10oz. Filet Mignon and it was cooked to perfection. Two of us had creme brulee for dessert and it was excellent topped with fruit. It has been a while since my last visit to the Capital Grille and I hope to get back sooner this time.

Visiting Charlotte and staying in uptown area. We visited here on a Sunday evening. No idea about parking, we walked. Everyone we encountered was friendly and welcoming. Service was professional, attentive but not intrusive. They weren't packed when we walked in but it got that way and they handled it well. The food, though. Oh my. I had the baby gem salad and the roquefort dressing was delicious. I had the roasted tenderloin and added a side of Carolina gold rice. My companion had the grilled shrimp and said the shrimp were excellent. He added the blue sweet potato side dish with balsamic and cashews. Unusual but a delight. He shared a bite with me and it was so good. Wines are interesting. We had some great ones.

While primarily a good steakhouse, their menu is unusually broad and interesting. I've had both the duck confit and the grouper, both of which were superb. My son had the bison tenderloin, which was exceptionally tender and flavorful I've never seen puttanesca sauce on fish but bet it's great. I look forward to more visits to try every item they offer.
