Yesterday, we celebrated our anniversary with friends at an incredible restaurant that doubled as an opera house! The professional performers blew us away with their talent. We loved opera. As opera enthusiasts, we were particularly impressed by the stunning performance of Eugene Onegin by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, sung in Russian. Thank you so much for an unforgettable experience.More infoThe Victor Cafe - PhiladelphiaPrice: Moderate• Italian• South Philly•4.9

Two of us at our table immensely enjoyed the Romarin specialty cocktail. Four of us shared three hors d’ouevres - the charcuterie, the mushroom tart and the crispy artichokes along with the beet salad. The serving sizes of each were perfect for the 4 of us to share. Our water glasses were continually refilled and the service was excellent. Two at our table had the Saturday special - poultry feuillete - an elevated chicken pot pie with mushrooms and black truffle oil. I sampled the special and the sauce was superb! I ordered the Moules Frites and another had the veal escalope. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food, the atmosphere and didn’t feel rushed. The interior of the restaurant was decorated for the holidays and it was a warm, welcoming environment. We completed our meal by sharing the moelleux au chocolat - a warm chocolate cake with hazelnuts and praline sorbet…delicious! I would highly recommend this restaurant for the quality of the food and the inviting atmosphere.More infoParcPrice: Expensive• French• Rittenhouse Square•4.8
- CChuckPhiladelphia County •2 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoWow! I walked past this resto so many times, and, from the outside, it looked average. However, as soon as you walk in the front door, you know that you are some place special. The ambience is great, but, more importantly, the food was exquisite. Yes, it was expensive, but the experience was worth every penny. To start, we ordered rolls with chive butter, and, for an entrée, had pumpkin ravioli with walnuts, apples, onions, and ricotta cheese--yum! The food was so good that we decided to order dessert, an apple tartan which was equally delicious. On top of that, our server was excellent, very helpful, and friendly. You have to try this place at least once!More infoThe LovePrice: Expensive• American• Rittenhouse Square•4.8

They go beyond attention to detail, they pay attention to EVERY detail, to ensure that you and your dining party have the most seamless and memorable dinner of your life. The food was exquisite, dare I say edible works of art filled with vibrant flavours and thoughtful components. I was left astonished as bite after bite culinary magic danced across my tongue engaging my pallet and my soul. Chef Randy has really created something magical, a culinary oasis on an otherwise humble street corner. Do your self a favour and come experience the gastronomic wanderlust that is River Twice.More infoRiver TwicePrice: Very Expensive• American• South Philly•4.7
- GGenevievevipWashington, D.C. Area •81 reviews5.0Dined on 7 July 2024The food here is delicious and the portions are large. I have ordered from here many times and will continue to order from here. On the whole, the staff was super friendly. Of note, they do not have Coke products. There was an issue with our order- something forgotten- and one of the staff yelled at another staff member and that was upsetting. The noise level was low except for the same staff that yelled being very loud on the phone.More infoThe Palace of IndianPrice: Moderate• Indian• South Philly•4.6
