Restaurants near Big Brushy Recreation Site

We went to The Bugler to celebrate our one year anniversary. We had a great table with a sweeping view of the race track. Johnny was our waiter and gave us great advice on the menu top to bottom. The food was incredible and each course had subtle flavors that really pushed each dish over the top. Johnny was “Johnny on the spot” with service, knowledge, and above all else, kindness. He helped make our special day feel like it was special to The Bugler as well. Highly recommend him, the staff, and the food. Can’t wait to come back.

Portions were larger than most fine dining which was nice. Hostess was very nice. My cocktail was delicious. Was surprised they didn’t box my food up when I wanted to a take it home. Butter cake was amazing. Saw the manager standing at the bar the entire time and drinking beer was a bit off putting. Certain things were overcooked and some were over salted.

Our experience at Vault was the best dining experience we’ve ever had! When I made the reservation, I wrote in the comments that we would be celebrating our 16 year wedding anniversary and that “if we could get a little bit of a nice table( as in against a wall) that I would be grateful. When we showed up they had the coziest, most intimate, private room waiting for us with Candles lit and everything! I was completely shocked. My wife could not have been more impressed! In 16 years we’ve never held back when it comes to dining out at 4-5 star restaurants for special occasions, this was the best dining experience we’ve ever had. The food was fantastic, but the experience really said it apart.

Service was excellent. Unfortunately pork shanks were unavailable but the Steinhaus platter was a good substitute. The pork loin was very good. My wife had the sauerbraten and was disappointed that it was heavier on the sweet and lacking on the sour. Their beer selection was good for us and they had samplers to help my wife choose her beer.

Absolutely incredible experience at 501Prime. The oysters are so fresh and amazing. The mushroom appetizer.. one of the best fried mushrooms we have ever had. The soup, salad and snapper were phenomenal. Rose was a fantastic server, so attentive, had great recommendations and made our night so special! Highly recommend!
