Located just a stone's throw from the Hôtel de Ville and the Marais district, Le Coupe Gorge restaurant, with its antique parquet flooring, dressed stonework and red velvet banquettes, exudes the flavour of old Paris and the pleasures of fine dining. The restaurant was founded in 1895 on rue de la Coutellerie, a street that owes its name to the many active cutlers. Its current name is more recent, no doubt due to the offbeat humour of one of its previous owners! We had a wonderful dinner at Le Coupe George. The food was excellent and the service was attentive and welcoming. The upstairs dining room was cozy, and we were the only foreign patrons, which added to the ambiance. I somewhat hate to endorse it for fear that it will be overrun with tourists, but our experience deserved an honest review.

If you like Spanish Tapas, this is your place in Paris. When you get tires of Coq au vin, crepes or sauces, head here. A very energetic place with good tapas. The Marais is a nice neighborhood to hang out in, as well. Very relaxed and fun. They have limited outdoor space, but they have AC and ceiling fans.
