The Palazzo Della Gherardesca was unusual for its time in that its main interior space, the atrium, was originally designed as a secondary courtyard. Now covered with a glass roof, like the courtyard Lobby, the Hotel’s Atrium Bar occupies a vast sun-lit and decorative space, serving lunch, dinner, and the typical Italian aperitif, afternoon tea, desserts, coffee and cocktails. For such a location and well known place the staff was very attentive and the service flowed throughout, from welcome fro g to final final limoncello. The meat was cooked as I requested (with no fuss) and was delicious. A great place to sit at the bar as well.

We were in Florence for almost a week and this was our FAVORITE dining experience! It’s family owned and operated, the food is DELICIOUS! Everyone is so friendly too. This is the authentic Italian experience you are looking for and it’s really well priced even given the proximity to the tourist traps by the Duomo.
