General Public is inspired by trying to imagine what an upscale English pub would be if it had the heart of an American brasserie (and was open 11 to 11). It’s also going to signal a little bit of steakhouse, but not too much. And finally, it will look behind itself at the Black Hoof, which you will see reflected in James Santon’s menu here and there. In terms of vibe, the main floor is ‘everything’s gone green’, with lush comfortable banquette seating, warm wood, and barstools designed for long conversations over many cocktails.     Had a great time at Vivo tonight! The service and food were amazing. We had chicken, pasta, salads and some appetizers and everything was perfect. Our server was very attentive and accommodating as we were dining with our toddler. Everyone ensured we were comfortable and taken care of. Highly recommend for a family dinner or date night. 10/10!

    Wonderful food. We shared keftedes,spanakopita, sea bass and choriatiki salad. Finished it off with Loukoumades that were better than my aunt's.... And she is an expert! Can't wait to go again!

    Great experience from the get. Sat at the bar and served by the bartender, Joe. Very personable and navigated me through the menu very well. It was quiet in the restaurant when I got there and half way through the place was packed. The pork secreto was perfect along with the shishitos. Finished the night with the basque cake which is a must. I have been following this restaurant on Instagram since 2013, it’s my first time to Toronto so I had to stop. Cannot wait to get back here!
