    Such a wonderful place! If you haven’t ever been to the Lake Elmo Inn, it’s worth a trip. Located in the quaint downtown of Lake Elmo, this historic restaurant has been serving since 1881. I first went there about 5 years ago for a celebration with a group of friends, and its charm has stuck with me ever since. One of my favorite places to go. It definitely has a traditional ambience - you feel like you are walking into something special. But it’s comfortable - from the host, to the dining rooms to the service. It nods to what fine dining used to be - and what a great feeling that creates. And the food! The menu is perfectly curated to offer familiar favorites, and interesting evolutions of the standards. So make a date with your favorite somebody, and treat yourselves to an absolutely delightful experience.

    Lake Elmo Inn’s dining experience has not recovered from covid. The menu is tired and the food mediocre. They are short of servers so our server was doing the best she could but seemed to have too many tables. We go here because its central to where we all live, and we enjoy the Christmas decorations.

    Our waitress, Diane, took great care of us. We shared the duck "eggs" a la orange appetizer. It was wonderful. One of us had the sunnies, and one of us had the parmesan crusted swordfish. Both of these fish entrees were so fresh and tasty. Diane recommended the signature desert, which was a pecan pie crust filled with caramel and deliciousness, topped with chocolate. We highly recommend the Lake Elmo Inn, and especially Diane!

    The New Year's Day brunch exceeded our expectations! The restaurant was so beautiful, our server was just great and the food was delicious and such a great value. I hope to make this a tradition.
