   Service was excellent; waiter patient with special requests regarding food allergies. Service was attentive without hovering, or making us feel rushed. Food quality has remained consistently great---I am among those who say La Toscana has the best preparation of calamari anywhere. And, petrale sole is always excelletn. La Toscana honored our request for a quiet location, since we had a couple of hearing impaired diners.

   Very appealing space and solid food. Portions are generous and overall taste very good. Service is unrushed, but water glasses are very small and need to be refilled often. For this reason, water bottles should be left on tables instead of relying on waitstaff for refills. Very popular place for a good reason.

   We had a birthday celebration and they gave us a complementary Sunday for the birthday girl. And then we sat and visited for over an hour after our lunch and they were very nice and didn’t ask us to leave and didn’t ask us to buy anymore. it was kind of a slow day at the restaurant, but it was so nice to visit with our friends

   Four of us arrived, I use a walker and we were accommodated to a comfortable table immediately and handed menus, given water and asked if we wished bread which arrived almost immediately. Waitstaff was very attentive and well prepared drink orders were taken arriving 5-10 minutes later. Waiter was very knowledgeable and took our preferences (lactose intolerant) into consideration. Food portions of split salad, calamari dore, prawns, penne pesto, eggplant Parmesan were excellent quite substantial leaving enough for a light lunch the next day. Prices were in line with the portion sizes and quality of the excellent dishes. The bar is quite lively- get a table in back for quieter conversation. Definitely a neighborhood gem!

    We really enjoyed the restaurant. We were greated and seated right way. The warm and slightly special atmosphere comes from the wood finishes, photo mural and fireplace in the dining room. The food was perfectly prepared, with the exception of the risotto which wasn't quite hot enough. The Frito Misto was perfectly crisp on the outside and moist and sweet on the inside for every bite. The steak was delicious and cooked to perfection as requested. We'll be back!
