La Masseria Restaurant is inspired from ancient fortified farmhouses that in the Puglia Region of Italy are called “Masseria”. Executive Chef/Co-Owner, Pino Coladonato, grew up on a Farm in Puglia. He was forced to eat whatever was available but soon was tired of bean puree and decided to take matters into his own hands, creating new ways to use the same few ingredients. Now, with limitless ingredients to choose from, fava beans, chickpeas and lentils are still a core element in many of his entrees. Interior Designer Libby Langdon has created a warm, inviting dining atmosphere. Rustic and relaxed, with plenty of old world charm. Oversized iron sconces custom made from antique wrought iron gates punctuate the walls, and artful displays of antique farm tools mixed with various authentic Italian photographs all add to the farmhouse appeal. The wine list encompasses all regions of Italy with few of the best American and the rest of the world.

    Did not love our experience. Sat upstairs at a small table sandwiched between a service door and a massive, loud group of 10. The waiter only seemed to care about this other table. They ran out of plates and we only had one bread/app small plate to share. Food was not worth the price.

    We eat here regularly and tend to come here for all of our special occasions. Up to this meal, I have never been disappointed. The cocktails were superb as usual. My wife’s meal was excellent. I ordered Veal Milanese and was very surprised at how bland and dry it was. There was no moisture to the dish even with the greens added. I am a large man and are about half the serving because it wasn’t worth the caloric intake. To my amazement no one asked me if it was satisfactory, even when I left it on my plate. As a matter of fact no one asked if I wanted to take it home with a doggie bag. Get really dropped the ball here with me. I certainly will be back but not for this dish. Really let down that no one cared enough to ask about my satisfaction with my meal.

    The grilled octopus was overcooked and rubbery. The gnocchi tasted great, but the chosen cheese for the sauce smelled so bad that my daughter couldn't eat it as her stomach turned. Salmon was ok. The schiaffoni was the only thing exceptional that we ate, sadly.

    Do not book a late reservation here. I booked 8pm and there was an hour of availability after. As soon as we checked in, the host said “Hey, we know you!” When I asked how, they BOTH said “because you’re our last reservation tonight.” We were reminded we were the last table throughout the entire dinner. Rushed service, clearing the entire restaurant before our entrees got to us. The best past when we were asked if we wanted dessert from a server who wasn’t ours, he signaled across the restaurant to the kitchen that we said no. Coming from the industry, I’m appreciative of “the last table of the night.” However, I’ve never made any “last table” feel the way we felt. I won’t go back for a 5pm, 6pm or early bird special.

    La Masseria is consistent with their food! Great place for dinner and drinks. Their BOCCONCINI DI POLLO AL VIN COTTO is amazing and it’s my go to! I have to mention their service. Everyone is very nice, but Hector is amazing, attentive to our needs, recommends great wine and certain dishes and makes our date night and night out with friends very special. Keep up the great work Hector and La Masseria!!
