It is a custom that dates back past the 1500's. Traditionally, the exact food served is less important than the social occasion. Tapas is a way of life. It signifies leisure, camaraderie and good humor. In Spain, Tapas are almost always accompanied by wine. They are not so much about talking as they are about eating and drinking. The wine is the medium that holds the conversation with friends and the food together. You make time to enjoy the moment in an unhurried way. The threefold purpose of snacking on tapas is to dull any hunger pangs that have built up since the previous intake of comestibles.

    Our first time dining at La Bodega. We were going to “Barber of Seville” so why not have tapas? The service & food were quite good & the Spanish Coffee a real treat. We will return, however not on a busy Saturday night. As others have written, this restaurant is indeed loud. 😱

    Short rib was too salty. One side of the almond cake had a light garlic taste- maybe heated on the same area as other food. Serves were very friendly.

    We hadn’t been to La Bodega is quite some time but happened to be in the area so we stopped in. The food was just as incredible as we remembered. The wait staff were friendly and attentive, without being overbearing.

    A great spot for tapas. Rather than ordeing ourselves, we asked the waitress to bring her top 6 favorites on the menu and surprise us. 5 of the 6 were outstanding (the 6th was probably very good, just not my thing). Cocktails were great.
