    Went on the very busy shopping day after Christmas but the restaurant was not too crowded. Food came out quickly and drinks were great. Was a nice way to unwind after a busy day. Appreciated our server's positive attitude after what must have been a very difficult week.

    We have always loved coming to Kona but this last time they changed the menu, increased the prices and our sushi rice was dry and it smelled fishy. It tasted like it had been prepared the day before. The loud music they play is more for a bar than a now very expensive restaurant.

    Service was so slow….noise was very very high tonight for some reason……. all 3 dinners were good but appeared to have sit under heat lamp for some time…..penne was excellent….salmon great but rice over cooked….chicken macadamia was over cooked but sauce tasty…….no after dinner coffee cups for so we got paper cups….chocolate cake took 20 minutes to arrive. Just, Crazy poor service. It was Christmas so we had all the time in the world to catch up as our server disappeared from time to time. Not usually this slow and confusing service.

    I hate this - because I love Kona Grill. However, I don’t think they were prepared for a Christmas crowd. The Christmas menu (my reservation was at 5pm) was already 86’d. Bummer. Tried the Christmas martini - not good ($16). Ordered a Grey Goose dirty martini - not even sure what was brought to me but it wasn’t a dirty martini. Our starter came 25mins after we were done with our main entree. The waiter was awkward. Here’s the thing - I think it was a new staff who would work on Christmas- most likely the kitchen too. I was happy to be able to eat out. Their food is typically amazing. But for $200, wish it were better!

    We have been visiting Kona Grill for 5 years already. This time we went with friends visiting Denver. We were very disappointed. It became evident because it was Christmas they had limited personnel and the waiter even though he tried to be very nice, he did not a good job. He missed the plate of one of our guests, we had to remind him of a beverage for my wife which was not easy because nobody was paying attention, half of us didn’t have silver and napkin, he misplaced everything and me and my wife had to share an Espresso cup to drink our hot Sakes because they had no Sake glasses. The waiter was also pushy trying us to order more food. We will return in the future because we like the place and the food, but never again on Christmas Day.

    The food was iffy, we were seated near the employee entrance despite lots of other open tables and our served made several errors with our order. It was all in all “just fine” but for the price tag we probably won’t be back for a meal.

    The service was great the food was delicious but the noise level is off the charts Not only could we not hear our servicer we could not hear each other. Just not necessary for an enjoyable dining experience
