Kokkari (pronounced “Ko-Kar-ee”) is a small fishing village located on the islands of Samos in the Aegean Sea, whose name is derived from the small onions that were once produced in the nearby fields. Its fertile soil and Mediterranean climate translated into an abundance of fresh produce as well as treasured seafood and game. Legend tells that Kokkari is the site where Orion, a mighty hunter and a young man of gigantic stature and great beauty, fell in love with the daughter of the king of Chios. For the love of her, Orion forged the island for wild game and seafood to prepare elaborate banquets in celebration of their love. First they said my reservation was cancelled but it wasn’t. So they gave me a table near bar. Chair height is high pretty uncomfortable even though my reservation was first time 11:30 AM and there are some table available. And they even did not serve aperitif bread but all other table has. It was disrespectful and disappointed experience.

Everything about our meal was amazing, appetizers to dessert. The sea bass in particular was terrific — as was the quiet, professional service and very comfortable booth. Kokkari never disappoints!

We had a fantastic dinner - the grilled octopus and shrimp were delicious - as was the saganaki. For mains - the lamb chops were delicious as was the sea bass! Incredible meal all around.

Superb service and food. Table For 7 and it was fantastic. The baked feta, meatballs, and lamb chops THE BEST. Wish we were able to have the holiday goose.

My family dinned at Kokkari for an important Birthday celebration. We have been huge fans of Kokkari for years thru inspiring buainess lunches and family dinners. However, during this most recent visit our meal ( food quality) was inconsistent, I will keep it brief but here what we experienced : the oven roasted petrole sole was well prepared but lacked real flavor; Greek ravioli was just plain not appetizing and had too many competing ingredients and the house famous lamb chops which were prepared medium rare , but not served hot along with the Kokkari potatoes usually crispy on the outside side and moist on the inside were just plain hard and also served luke warm, with too much vinaigrette and not enough seasoning I hope management starts to pay closer attention to the food leaving the kitchen.
