   Expediting of food was bad. Ordered calamari and oysters for appetizers. Calamari came first and was delicious but our main courses came out before the oysters did???? And the fish of main courses were cold! Fish, Mahi Mahi, swordfish were cold and overdone. Feels like they were sitting precooked before being ordered. Felt like I was eating fish at a diner rather than a specialized fish restaurant. Sierra the server was friendly but took a while to attend to us. We were sitting for over 5 minutes before being seen to and I had reservations. Used to I like this place and send my friends to eat but not anymore.

   Take my boyfriend’s family and him here for his birthday. Food came out pretty quick and our server was very attentive. At the end of his dinner, the server brought out Keylime pie and surprised us. I got the Mexican crested nut Seabass, with the garlic, mashed potatoes and grilled zucchini and it was decadent. Very delicious

   We love King's, it is our go to seafood restaurant in San Diego, and we have been coming to the Carlsbad location since its opening in 2003. The oyster selection is without peer and all other seafood selections, of which there are numerous, are always fresh and well prepared. Portions are great as well. The specialty cocktails, wine and beers lists have a nice cross section and variety, reasonably prices. The only things that could have been done better was the bussing, I asked a busser to take away the plates from some of our appetizers as they sat for awhile after we were finished with them and I guessed that the entrees would be arriving soon, which they did. Secondly, I made the reservation noting that we would be bringing our dog, a medium sized guy, and the 1st two options we were presented with on the patio were booths, which would mean he would have to be at the head of the table in the walk way. He wouldn't fit under the table and even if he did that would hamper our comfort. We did get a table with chairs so he could be positioned between two of us, against the wall and not in any ones path. We love your food and service and will be back. Dan

   Nice place to go albeit noisy. The tables and booths are lined up so that you always seem to be in the service path. We were initially seated in front of a door to the outside with a cold blast coming through every time somebody open the door. However, Service was solid if not great. Food as usual was very good. In my experience over many years here, this place is very consistent. If you want a reliable meal at a reasonably comfortable place with dependable service this is a great choice.

   The rainbow roll is wonderful. Very fresh. The tuna salad is a favorite. Great service.
