Located within the Sleeping Lady Mountain Resort, Chef Micah Windham and his culinary team have created seasonal gourmet menus with the freshest local and seasonal ingredients. Meals are are served family style and al a carte in Kingfisher's lodge-style setting which features exposed wood beams, river rock, a roaring massive stone fireplace and sweeping views of Icicle Canyon. They had left the vent closed on the fireplace so it was an ice box in there and smelled like a camp fire. To their credit they did ask if we wanted to keep our reservation and we said yes, so I’m actually giving them a break there and not holding it against them. However instead of trying to ensure the rest of our experience was great the service was incredibly slow, half the food was cold, and one of our pizzas arrived after everyone else had finished dinner, only to be raw in the middle. They did take that off our check once we let them know it was raw, but overall just a really disappointing experience for a place that charges $24 for a pepperoni “pizza” which was more like a flat bread, the same for a cheese pizza for a 3-year old, didn’t smash the patties on the smash burger, and calls baked potato wedges jojo’s. Mediocre food at a high price and very slow and inattentive service. I was told the wings were really good.

We waited fir nearly 2 hours for drinks and dinner. We got water and some stale bread. Fornthe price we were hopeful for a good meal and experience. Neither of which was provided. We ended up canceling our food and remaining beverages and leaving.

Apparently the restaurant just reopen after a couple of years being closed, it was caos from getting our table all the way to getting our bill. Food was ok, however it rooms about 20 minutes just to get water on the table and about 80 minutes to get our meal from the time we order. Since being recently reopen I want to believe they will get better with time, plus the restaurant was completely packed.

We went on Thanksgiving. The turkey, dressing, and mashed potatoes were dry. We had to share a table with other diners even though we had reservations. Service was slow, but expected seeing how busy they were.

We had a reservation but when we arrived they had nothing available, then as a party of 7, they wanted to seat us at a six top. We finally were seated about an hour after our reservation. We never got menus (other than what we brought to the table). It took over an hour to get cocktails and bread served. Then the main courses were meh at best in taste and delivered cold. The staff were obviously trying their best and very pleasant but the execution was horrible. It was Thanksgiving so we were trying to be extra understanding, but it was way below our expectations.

I arrived just before 9PM on a Tuesday night. With the restaurant virtually empty, I dined on an excellent burger and a beautiful fragrantly herbed green salad. The salad was incredibly fresh - a pleasure to look at and to eat! After a 2 hour drive to the resort, it was great to be treated to such excellent service and food. Highly recommend.

We have enjoyed dining (and breakfasting) at Kingfisher at least a dozen times over the years. This was no exception. It remains a welcoming, handsome and comfortable space to visit. The service is friendly, efficient and top notch. The food is delicious. My concerns relate to the pricing. $20+ dollars for a glass of wine is expensive even by Seattle standards. The prices of the entrees aren’t bad (mostly in the thirties), but everything else is extra-vegetables, potatoes. The result is the entree looks very lonely on the plate. Some thought to garnishing (i.e., plating or presentation touches) would be a welcome improvement. And while it’s not uncommon to charge extra for a vegetable dish, an included potato, rice or even fruit element would be helpful. We’ll be back, but I do hope some thought will be given to these well intentioned suggestions.

Overall it was very good. Beautiful place. Service was excellent. The food was very good. My steak was done perfectly but by the time they served it to me it was so cold the butter on it wouldn’t melt and the butter patty still was wrapped in its plastic. Maybe it should have been removed. Idk. No matter what I will return another day
