Server, although she seemed stretched thin in the beginning of the meal, kept drinks filled, flowing and continuously checked on us. Thank you Destiny. Starters we chose were the duck gumbo which was delicious great amount of heat but was lukewarm (that was ungood), fried green tomatoes were not breaded heavily and were decent, lastly the crawfish bread - left more to be desired. There was some cheese sauce that fell short on flavor. Positives were the crawfish and yummy bread. Our mains were the best with Catfish Huey delivering on all that the description offered, two orders of the red beans and rice with chicken. Both diners of those plates loved the pepper jelly, crunchy breading and the portions of chicken were generous. Red beans and rice could have had more flavor and been hotter. Lastly, the shrimp po boy was well received. Overall, solid meal.

I see a lot of bad reviews on here for this restaurant but our experience was completely opposite. The hostess was polite and prompt to seat us. Our server Leon was very attentive, informative and super nice. All of our entrees were outstanding! Super nice and chill atmosphere. Definitely recommend.

The hostess was not at the door for a long while. There were several parties waiting to be helped. There was a nice waitress that turned a table by the door to accommodate us. She was really sweet. Food was good, didn’t take too long even though they were extremely busy.

For their first Réveillon meal, this restaurant was not prepared. Problems started front of house, at the door. Cynthia, the "hostess" didn't have anything under control, and there was a line of people out the door, all with reservations. When one man in line complained, Cynthia, instead of apologizing or being contrite, got defensive and antagonized the guy. He ended up leaving, all while she was still arguing with him. Back of the house wasn't much better. Servers were crowded at the kitchen window seemingly waiting for something, anything to come out. Our server, Andrew, explained that things were slow and apologized profusely. I told him as a restaurant writer, I was familiar with food service and I could tell the evening's slowdown wasn't his fault. Still, it was 50 minutes before we saw our first dish. For all of those faults, the food was PHENOMENAL with a capital phenomenal. I thought with all those hiccups, our entrees would arrive lukewarm or cold, but they were all to temperature -- fantastic! Again, Andrew took great care of us.

Luckily the food is good. But when I tell you the staffing is a hot mess that’s an understatement. There was a line outside the restaurant of all the people with reservations just waiting to check in. No one was to be found for 30 mins. This was Christmas Day but if they had a skeleton crew they shouldn’t have had so many reservations. I was a party of one that reserved bar seating so I decided to not wait in line and hop at the bar. I’m not normally someone that leaves reviews let alone negative ones but the service was terrible. The hostess finally started coming up to people and was just ignoring people. Luckily the bartender was helpful and I got my food within an hour but I can’t say that for the rest of the people that had reservations that night. The manager had come out and she was just as clueless as to how to handle the crowd of angry hungry people. I got off the bar and explained what I’ve witnesses the past two hours and told people to just sit at the bar. I hope this describes the scene you are getting into when making a reservation. This is my second time at this restaurant and only returned due to limited options to eat on Christmas Day.

This was kind of a mess start to finish. Late on the reservation by 40 minutes, totally out of food even though it was early in the evening, waiting more than we were eating and then told us they were going to try to push us out because they were behind. Not a memorable Xmas dinner. Only good thing was that they were open when so many places were closed.

Our table was given to someone else, The waiter was great, the food was lukewarm warm, the restroom was not ready for Christmas dinner. The kitchen was behind in cooking

Richard, we are very sorry that you weren't seated promptly, and that you waited for food that was disappointing. We are working with our team to ensure that going forward, our guests are seated quickly and our food is served at its best. We hope you will visit us again so that we can provide you with a better experience.
