I had booked a table last Wednesday, I went in there and said my name and he looked at me blankly and then questioned me as though they didn't normally take table bookings, so much so I had to go on my phone and double check I was at the right restaurant. We then sat down and once we had received our drinks and ordered 2 sandwiches, we were told it was a 25 minute wait for the food. The sandwiches tasted good but for £9 a sandwich they were seriously overrated and not very big/filling even though they were called the 'big sandwiches'. We then asked for the bill, which arrived shortly but then we were sat there for another 15 minutes waiting for the card reader, when the waitress was asked she rolled her eyes and said she would be with us in a minute. Overall, overpriced food, bad attitude and poor service. I wont be going back and I wouldn't recommend.

This started all well - waitress came over a couple of times to take our order however since not having seen my friends for a while we were slow in looking at the menu (15min). When we were ready we had been abandoned and after some time of trying to catch their eye we finally had to request for them to take out order. By this time the wait for food was around 20 minutes - OK fair, however for a cold lunch it could probably be done quicker. I stress cold, since my warm goats cheese salad had never seen the frying pan. Instead I was faced with chunks of hard, cold cheese on my oil drenched salad. Looking over to my friend's plate, he was feeling a little worse for wear and had ordered a chicken and bacon ciabatta. This is indeed what he got. Nothing else. Took a while to chew threw it and great gulps of water to get it down. All in all, you wild probably make it better at home. At least the service charge of 12.5% was taken off the much asked for bill after I prompted the waitress about the cheese. Which obviously took way longer to change and rectify than should have.

We booked this place for 2015. We were a little late, and rang them to let them know. When we arrived just after 2030, they said the kitchen had closed! They didn't warn us of this when we rang. Plus it is hard to find. Plus it is NOT Jamie Oliver's...

Its essentially a nice small pub with some decent food options. Dont think its really meant for business meals although it was relatively silent so one could talk. Everything was okish. Service was quick. Waitress seemed in a rush/a bit rude at times.

The restaurant is OK, a little small maybe and the food was surprisingly good however I needn't have booked but I did expect a pre Christmas buzz and when I first arrived it was a little quiet. This may be because it's really quite hidden and not actually that easy to find so there is possibly less passing trade. It was good for meeting an old friend as conversation wasn't impacted by noise or music, but as i said, wea actually wanted a bit of that.

Jamies is one of the few remaining City wine bar chains where you can get a sandwich and a glass of wine and be out in under an hour. Sandwich selection is solid but a bit on the stodgey side so a few healthier options would round things out nicely. The Groveland Court venue is an oasis off busy Bow Lane that is a great central meeting point for quick City lunches.
