   This was the fourth time I've eaten at Ida Claire. All other times were outstanding. This visit included four people. All meals were good except for the eggs were cold on my husband's meal.

   If you like a huge room full of strangers talking loudly and spicy food, this is the place for you! They even make spicy mac n cheese!! I choked on the first bite and coughed for at least 2 minutes before sending it back! The fried chicken was good, although with some spice. I was able to eat it. The sweet potato fries were good but also a bit spicy, even though I ordered it without spice. To calm my stomach down, I ordered apple pie a'la mode, which was good, but you need a knife to cut the crust. It was tasty though. My friend had 1/2 a sandwich (Monte Cristo) and cup of gumbo. She liked both. With iced tea for me and water for her, the bill exceeded $50 by a few cents!!! That's prior to a tip.........................too spicy for my stomach and too expensive to return.

   Excellent fried chicken and chicken and waffles. Would not recommend the biscuits. They were smaller and not as good as I remembered. Sweet potatoes were too spicy. Should tell customer of this fact when ordering.

   It was a wonderful dining experience. I do not like southern food, but appreciated the pun in the name “Ida Clare.” That’s why I came. I was not disappointed. The entry is inviting. The book art on the wall was so clever! Although I was prepared to have fried this ant that because it is a southern food restaurant, the kale salad was such a pleasant surprise. That’s so thoughtful. I enjoyed the creativity in the addition of mustard seeds in the salad. I loved my grapefruit mocktail. I would have enjoyed some homemade vanilla ice cream with dark chocolate syrup and strawberries 🍓. Or how about strawberry shortcake??

   Our server was amazing and I am still craving the cinnamon latte and all the brunch menu was delicious! Great job executing and we loved it!

    I celebrated my birthday at Ida Claire! From my phone call to Lay the hostess to our waiter, Jaylen we were really impressed with everything. My favorite dish was the Redfish & orzo. We enjoyed the fried oysters, biscuits and crab cakes as appetizers. Also, the bone in chicken and waffles and monte Cristo sandwich were also delicious. The porkchop was a little dry this time. Overall, we had a great night!
