    As always, an amazing culinary experience. The arrival of the winter menu was very much welcomed. It was great to enjoy the return of the cassoulet and creamy broccoli and fennel sausage pasta. The special dish for the night - the petrale sole was amazing as well!

    Fantastic experience from start to finish. A little loud while the pre-theater crowd was in the restaurant, but it was animated and lively, and fun.  Cocktails were terrific, food and wine were outstanding. The port places, a Portland treasure, and it was a pleasure dining there and seeing it so full.

    Beautiful evening with my family where we got to dine in a cozy and beautiful atmosphere, eat amazing food, and get great service. Love Higgins so much!

    Higgins offers two dining experiences, one with formal (white tablecloths) dining rooms and a bistro-bar next door. Both menus are available in the bistro. This results in selections that range from a high-end hamburger to fine-dining, imaginative seafood and steaks. Everything is prepared with great care from extremely fresh ingredients, many sourced from the restaurant's own gardens. Last night I opted for the bistro burger; my previous visited included the best tuna I've ever eaten. But both were terrific and served by very knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff. Whenever my wife and I are in Portland, a trip to Higgins is on our itinerary.

    Our dinner at Higgins really exceeded our expectations. The staff was wonderful, the food was amazing, and the ambiance was perfect. We will definitely be back when we come into the city for a night out!

    We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner at Higgins. Their rendition of a classic turkey dinner was amazing, the brined breast moist and tender, the confit legs delicious. Great service, as always. We have never had a bad experience there.
