   We had a wonderful dinner last night. Starting with cocktails that were excellent, crab cake appetizers and salads and main dishes were all great. Their Coconut curry was so good and big portions so I took the rest home for lunch. Everyone else had either Monchpng or Ahi and were all happy with what they ordered. The new general manager dropped by to introduce herself so that was a plus. We were too full for dessert but the offerings were great.

   Excellent food and service. Nice drive to the restaurant. The fish and chips and the buttermilk sandwich were excellent.

   Hali’imaile General Store is an iconic must visit restaurant in Maui. For more than 30 years it has stood the test of time as a favorite restaurant of locals and guests alike.    Since I grew up next door (White House) and the General store was where we got our mail and whatever, we come every time we come to Maui(home). The food never disappoints and the chef is phenomenal, I don’t think he gets enough credit because he makes it happen. The memories are priceless but the prices are over the top. We’re on vacay and you can’t put a price on memories! I told Jennifer, the manager about the history about Haliimaile General store and she was appreciative of the background since i lived next door. Experience the mouth savoring flavors and ambience of old Haliimaile.

   Seating was easy and accommodating for 2 seniors, Waiter was attentive, food was delicious, dining room/ambiance is charming; just a pleasant dining experience all around, for everyone in my party.
