   I suggested this restaurant for a friend reunion lunch. We have not been here before and we were excited to try it out. The restaurant is overall very nice, however it fell short on some major points. We were there on Sunday, Jan 19 in Schaumburg, first day of single digit temperatures. Service was very slow, we had to ask for menus, then ask for refills, then ask for napkins., that was annoying. Food was mediocre. I ordered the French onion soup, it was ok but the cheese on top looked like it wasn’t baked at all but microwaved and it was lukewarm. My Ceasar salad was good. My friends meals were over salted and also lukewarm. Then the best part was when the staff decided to bring in chairs from the outside. Doors wide open and directly facing our seats. It was so uncomfortably cold we decided to bring it to the staff’s attention to please close the doors because it was unbearable. We were told they will close as soon all chairs Will brought inside…. No offer to move our seats. Well at that point we decided it was time to leave. So overall disappointing first time visit. Especially for a Sunday afternoon lunch, where restaurant was not busy.

   When weekday specials are offered, please offer that menu when seating guests. Tired of servers acting surprised when we know about 8.00 burgers etc. (This isn't only at Granite City.) We dine out frequently and will always tip on what the full price check would have been. Just seems to be a bit of" bait and switch " happening more and more.

   Had lunch and the food was good. Sandwich was hot and tasty, mashed potatoes were warm but not hot, but also tasted good. Service was very good.

   Our food order was taking forever. We finally got our Brussel Sprouts Appetizer but then waited 10minutes for silverware. After waiting another 30 minutes we finally got a salad. Then after another 40 minutes we asked to get the bill for what we did get because we have now been here two hours and we had other plans to get to. The manager did come and apologize and worked with us on our bill. We love this restaurant and will go back again, just not on busy holidays.

   It was NYE so they were busy. My toddler ordered a grilled cheese and fries. Her food came late about 10 minutes after me and my wife got 2 rounds of drinks, an appetizer, salad, and our meals. Price was a bit high for the overall experience.

   It took our server almost 30 minutes to bring us water, each round of drinks also took a very long time. I ordered a burger with waffle fries, my fries were cold. We also ordered mac and cheese and the chicken was not good at all. We did not eat the mac and cheese. Between the mediocre food and poor service we did not have a good time and will not be returning
