   Very much enjoyed my return visit to the Oyster Bar . Our server was excellent. I ordered the lobster roll which was very tasty;; however , there was some cartiledge on which somebody could have choked

   Excellent service, although we were never served rolls. Noisy. Shared Sole Meunière with wife and the classic Caesar salad. The salad was fine, and the sole beyond our expectations. My brother ordered the lobster roll plate which he loved. He also enjoyed the cheesecake. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the apple pie with dates but would have enjoyed it more had it been warmed. The wine was $14 which is now standard. The pour was not generous and was nondescript. Finally, the staff was welcoming. As I reread this, it strikes me that I was too negative. We enjoyed ourselves and highly recommend the Oyster Bar.

   Always reliable for excellent service and the freshest seafood. The secret to choosing the right oyster is there is none. They’re all excellent. The ambience in the main dining room is wonderful but check out the bar in the back for a completely different feel.

   Classic midtown spot. We like the casual atmosphere, but it took a very long time for our food to come out, and when it did, it was cold.

   Indifferent waiters. Poor drink; my cocktails basil was brown. Mediocre food at best. Gross bread tasteless butter. Actually bland food! I wouldn’t recommend to anyone under 50.

    Great restaurant with a lot of history. They're only open Monday through Friday, probably to cater to the commuter crowd. But you should treat this restaurant like it's own destination! It's absolutely huge inside. The dining room is great for dinner, the counters/bar for lunch, and the saloon for appetizers/drinks. Our server was very knowledgeable about oysters, and he made good recommendations for the entire menu. Service was speedy. My partner and I had drinks, appetizers, and dinner within 50 minutes, and we didn't feel like we were being rushed at all. We went at 6 PM on a Friday and it was busy, but not packed. Dining room was about 65% full and the saloon was 85% full. The counters/bar were maybe 50% full. A reservation probably isn't required, but you should get one just in case. Overall, I would definitely come back. I wish they were open on the weekends!
