This is the story of Paolo and Matteo, two guys from Milano who had an idea. Let's take the heart of our tradition and fuse it with the exciting innovations happening in Italian cooking, they said. Inspired by the Roman deity Janus who looked to the future as well as the past, Giano respects tradition and embraces the future. We like to think of our little corner in the east village as quite special, and hope you will too

What an excellent experience! Food was great and the service was perfect. Paolo was so kind, welcoming and hilarious. Made the night exactly what we were looking for. We will be back!

My favorite restaurant in the city - came for Valentine’s Day for the second year in a row. The food was incredible as always, the service was spectacular, and the ambiance was cozy and romantic. The servers are all very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. You really can’t go wrong with anything here, cannot recommend it enough!

The place looks a lot prettier on line. The food was not good. The raviolis were dry. They only serve wine and beer. We both had the three course meal and it was terrible.
