Sadly brought food while we were only half way through our cocktails which we prefer to finish so that we can take wine with the meal. Wiener schnitzel was tough and chewy. Pork knuckle was a great size, but unlike Bavarian styles had less crackling and more crispy fat on top. My fifth visit and the most disappointing so far.

Our breakfast which was a cooked breakfast was disappointingly cold. The restaurant wasn’t that busy so no excuses.

We have been here a number of times over the years, and enjoy the unique menu offering, and atmosphere. However, on this occasion there were a few irritations and I would make the following points: 1. Although the service was good overall, and our server helpfully offered to replace 'curry mayonnaise' with plain mayonnaise for one of our starters, this was not implemented - it being very busy, it was not possible to attract the attention of the server to rectify this omission. 2. For two of our party, the accompanying potatoes were tepid - again it was too busy to attract attention to report this. 3. The menu now includes a £1 charitable donation as a menu option - we decided not to select this item. However, it was extremely irritating that the final bill still included a discretionary £1 donation, which we then had to have removed. 4. A discretionary service charge of 13.5% is also levied - high in our opinion, and tipping is always preferred. However, we accepted this since we knew that was the system. Hopefully the above points will be useful for others to see - we would still return in the future though, as it's a great venue!

I took a friend for Kaffee und Kuchen in the afternoon and expected an authentic German experience. Some of the cake on offer sounded genuine although not necessarily German. The cake I had was definitely not fresh. The ambience was a bit disappointing. It is very echoey inside.

Second time here. Great for casual dining. It has everything - location, building, ambiance, service etc. - food is great and price of beer reasonable too for a restaurant.
