The food, service and setting is lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend anyone to go. The only negative was that the room was cold which spoilt it for me.

Food was a bit expensive for what it is. Beer reasonably priced but cheapest wine £8 for a small glass! Service was absent for certain periods as it got busier. Nice atmosphere & beautiful building which was the main reason we went.

If a restaurant gives you a 2hr window in which you’re expected to eat and leave… they should extend the courtesy the other way round. We’ve just had dinner and it took from 6 until 8.45pm. We would still be there and waiting for the coffee if we hadn’t complained…. We sat down and ordered immediately - it was so slow and the restaurant itself was half empty and really cold. We were disappointed the famous Christmas tree was already down (2nd January) and relieved we’d been to a matinee theatre rather than evening performance. Disappointed and unlikely to be back.

Strange service, seemed to have loads of staff, spend most of their time around the tills / terminals in groups not looking at customers, when they did come over most of the staff were offhand, not rude, just seemed annoyed that they had customers. Food was a mixed bag, some good, some terrible. Kids meal was mostly sauerkraut. Not the restaurant it used to be.

Dear James, Thank you for your recent visit and for taking the time to leave us your feedback. It is very disappointing to read that the service was lacking, considering it was not that busy. As the busy festive period has gone- we will definitely work on improving service as the experience you had is far from the standard we normally hold ourselves to. It is lovely to hear that you enjoyed the atmosphere and we hope to have the pleasure of serving you again and earning a higher rating in the future. Warm Regards, Jo & GG Team

We were at the end of the balcony on the first floor. There was a good party atmosphere. Everyone dressed up for New Year. The food was very good and the first band 3 girl singers) in particular, were excellent. Romanian pinot noir and Warsteiner stein also recommended.

Website claimed we would have the table all night if booking the upstairs mezzanine. We booked this as it was nye and we’re looking forward to the live band. It stated we would arrive to the live band and enjoy our food while they played. Our booking was at 7:15 and the band didn’t come on until 20:30. We were then made to leave at 21:00 as they said they had another booking. We were told we could move to the bar but it was standing only. I have a bad back so cannot be standing for long periods. The whole meal felt rushed (which made sense once they revealed we did not in fact have the table all night). Food came out cold and very tough beef and we had to ask for steak knives. When leaving we mentioned how the website stated we had the table all evening and they admitted we were not the first table to have complained about this. Food was ok but we felt really let down and misled.

We attended the NYE dinner with high expectations, but unfortunately, our experience left us with mixed feelings. The food was overall good, with the main dish and dessert being particularly exquisite. However, we found the entrée to be quite small and limited (the shrimps salad), which didn’t align with the quality of the other courses. The primary issue we encountered was with the service. We had reserved a table for the entire evening, with the understanding that it would be available to us throughout the night. However, as we were nearing the end of our dinner, one of the waitresses informed us that we would need to move to another area as they needed the table for the next service. I explained that, according to our booking agreement, the table was reserved for us all night, (we were seated on the upper floor). The waitress mentioned she would speak with the manager, but unfortunately, we never received any follow-up or resolution, leaving us confused and a bit uncomfortable. Additionally, we found that the staff was not particularly friendly, and some interactions felt rather curt. For instance, when we arrived, we were not offered the option to leave our coats in the cloakroom, which would have been a nice touch for a NYE dinner. While this may seem like a minor detail, it’s these small touches that can elevate the overall experience especially in such a competitive night as NYE. Another disappointment was with the live music. The live music didn’t start until we were already halfway through our dinner, and it wasn’t continuous. Instead, it was played in bursts, with long periods of silence during the evening. Given that the live music was highlighted in the restaurant’s offerings, we had expected it to be a consistent part of the experience from the start of dinner but that was not the case. Overall, while it was a positive experience, we had anticipated a more seamless and polished experience for NYE dinner.
