Located in the heart of Savannah"s historic City Market, Garibaldi is housed in the 1871 Germanian Fire House. Built in classic Paladdian architecture, the building is a beautiful presence in the market area. In the fashion of the era, the firehouses were commonly community meeting places. Thus, the Germanian Society erected a Grand Ballroom on the second floor of the building. With sixteen foot ceilings, fourteen foot arched windows and vintage iron chandeliers, it is one of the most beautiful dining rooms in Savannah, seating 120 and complete with its own private bar. The main floor is a beautiful Victorian room with lavish gilt mirrors, original pressed tin ceiling, romantically illuminated with whimsical chandeliers. Garibaldi offers a variety of menus, and specializes in customizing menus to your specific needs. Gracious service and outstanding food is our highest goal and has helped us earn the Zagat Award of Distinction once again for 2011/12.

The food was great, but our server was terrible. He messed up our appetizer, drinks took forever, he never refilled our water, and my wife’s extra wine arrived so late that she sent it back.

Wonderful ambiance. Christmas lights and a warm cozy feeling. I had the Lobster Rabini and it was delicious. My brother had the Carbonara and it to was delicious. It’s really wonderful and relaxing. Our server Taylor was very attentive and we enjoyed talking to her.

Our waitress was excellent but the food was overrated and pricey. We had the spacial ribeye steaks that were just ok, not much flavor, for $65 dollars the side was French fries. The pork belly appetizer was great but the calamari, was overcooked. We will not be going back.

It was a long wait for everything. Our appetizer was oyster Rockefeller when arrived was warm not hot and didn’t seem cooked all the way. Our entrees we got after 1 hour 30 minutes and both had cold sides and my rack of lamb which was a special did not look good and was overcooked. The waitress was nice and not her fault but the kitchen was horrible. It will be hard to go back.

Top notch staff, from the friendly banter at the bar for cocktails to the waitstaff during dinner. Food, excellent, from appetizers to dessert. She-crab soup was probably the best I’ve tasted.
