The Gabriel Archer Tavern was built in 1987 on footprints of an old farm shed. Today, its mission is to provide a memorable farm-to-table dining experience that's both delicious and nourishing.

In addition to a half-acre produce garden and greenhouse on site where lettuces and herbs will be grown, our chef works hard to find local farmers as partners in producing a menu oriented towards fresh and seasonal specialties.

Our wide variety of fresh selections from our unique menu will guarantee that everyone in your party leaves with a smile.

Enjoyed our meals, wine, and the excellent service. This was a little off the beaten path of a very busy downtown Williamsburg busseling with Christmas goers. Would’ve loved a little festive decor but the food, drinks and service were excellent. Ate for lunch!

I selected the Gabriel Archer Tavern because it came up on a search for “farm to table” style dining. The staff was excellent and attentive. The parsnip soup was one of the best soups I’ve ever had.! The eggs Benedict was very good also. However I did not find the spicy Caprese sandwich delightful. The main flavor was simply spicy; the cheese flavor was completely lost. Overall, I recommend the Gabriel Archer Tavern, especially as a compliment to a visit to Williamsburg Winery; maybe just don’t select the Caprese sandwich.

My wife and I visit this wonderful restaurant every year to celebrate our anniversary. Not only for our anniversary but also most times we visit Williamsburg. The food is always great and the staff is always very friendly. We definitely will be continuing this tradition in the future!

Tanya was attentive, friendly and ensured we had all we wanted. Food was delish. The only observation was the charcuterie board was the leanest we’ve seen in Virginia! It was a single person board for a whole table price. We’ll go back but steer clear of the board!

We had lunch at Gabriel Archer's twice while in Williamsburg. Both were very, very good. We'll definitely go back.
