In empty room, we were seated next to only occupied table. Were told all other tables were specifically reserved well in advance. Beverages didn't drop until nearly 40 minutes after seating in an empty room. Medium well steak was almost burnt. Never again.

We really enjoyed dinner and drinks as well as overall atmosphere. We made our reservations over a month before so it would have been nice to be seated at one of the smaller rooms with less noise. That said enjoyed historic significance of the tavern and big long room!

There were little kids running around and screaming. Parents and staff were completely unresponsive. It felt like a fast food restaurant.

My husband and I dined here for a date night dinner. Staff were friendly, and the food was excellent. Recommended are the pork chop, the short rib porter pie with mashed potatoes, and then clam chowder. Drinks were delicious. The ambiance reminds me of the Prancing Pony from Lord of the Rings, and during the holidays they add tasteful festive decorations. Definitely make a reservation before stopping in for food.

We had read about Fraunces Tavern and thought it would make for a good place to grab lunch prior to going to the WTC museum. It exceeded our expectations in every way. First, for a place that I figured was a bit of a tourist trap, the food was really good. They were having some issues with the grill on the day we were there, which limited our choices some, but we ended up getting a couple of flatbreads that were excellent. I had previously read that George Washington had bid farewell to his troops at a dinner there following the Revolutionary War, but there was so much more to the history of the building. We toured the museum that is above the restaurant after lunch, and it was very much worth the modest price of admission.

The Christmas decor was very cute. The host kept seating walk-in before seating us -which I found to be weird. Our server was not friendly or attentive. She seemed annoyed every time she came to our table. The food was ok but not worth the price.

A warm, lovely spot to eat. You can feel the history and taste the love that goes into the delicious food prep. Don't miss it if you visit or live in NYC. One drawback/negative ... in my reservation I wrote that I was bringing a friend we were celebrating her birthday. I thought there would be some kind of celebratory dessert provided as I've experienced in other establishments. There wasn't even an acknowledgement.
