Best Restaurants with a Wood Oven in Elysian Valley

Brunch at Carmel is amazing! We’ve always enjoyed dinner there and brunch may even supersede that. Must tries: Jerusalem Bagel with the eggplant/feta brûlée (i don’t like eggplant and this was delicious); the Tel Aviv omelet; and their Shakshuka. Also the host and our server were so welcoming, friendly, pleasant and had wonderful energy.

We parked on vine in front of Trader Joe’s. We then walked to the restaurant for dinner and from there walk to the pantages. We were stuck in traffic and called as we would arrive 30 minutes past our reservation. They were so lovely telling us not to worry and that they would hold a table for us. True to their word we were able to eat a complete meal in one hour. The wine list included a Pinot noir by Niner that was delish. Dessert was homemade. It will be our go to restaurant before theater

This is my favorite restaurant in LA!! The food is incredible. It’s comfort food that sophisticated. Easily the best steak in town. Everything makes sense!

Cecconi’s absolutely delivered on every level. From the atmosphere to the food, everything was outstanding. We started with the truffle ricotta appetizer, which was rich, flavorful, and the perfect way to kick off the meal. The chicken was cooked to perfection—tender, well-seasoned, and just overall delicious. The Bolognese? Easily one of the best I’ve had. Every bite was packed with deep, comforting flavors. We were too full for dessert, but based on everything else, I have no doubt it would’ve been amazing. Service was smooth, the vibe was great, and this is definitely a place I’d come back to. Highly recommend!

The Bistecca Fiorentina was spectacular. All of the food was amazing. Worth the splurge.
