Best Open Kitchen Restaurants in Forest Hills

We had a fantastic time from getting a drink at the bar to the meal at the table. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and had great suggestions. I would definitely recommend!

Blu on The Hudson is arguably the best restaurant I have ever visited. From the moment you pull up to valet service until the time you leave, it offers an exceptional experience. On January 3, 2025, I had dinner with a few friends, and the food was outstanding. There were eight of us, and we ordered various appetizers, entrées, and sides. I couldn't find anything negative about the food; everything tasted amazing. However, I did have my favorites. The "Thick Cut Wagyu Bacon," slow-cooked with a soy caramel glaze, is absolutely to die for. For my main course, I enjoyed the Wagyu Tomahawk, paired with whipped potatoes and truffle cream spinach. As a finishing touch, I had truffle butter drizzled over my Tomahawk. As I mentioned, I was there with a group of friends on January 3, 2025. The ambiance, service (specifically from Letty and Amber), drinks, and food prompted me to make a reservation for a date night with my wife the next night, January 4, 2025. Guess what? Blu on The Hudson didn't disappoint. Our waitress, Victoria, was excellent! She was very knowledgeable about the menu and made our evening flawless. After dinner, she had the valet retrieve our vehicle, just as Amber and Letty had done the previous night. I can't wait to return to Blu on The Hudson; it's a perfect choice whether you're looking for a date night or a relaxed outing with friends.

My friend and I had t seen each other for 5+ years. She traveled into Grand Central from CT. After much research for a place to meet, Park Ave Kitchen by David Burke was such a convenient meeting place. When we arrived, the ambience was wonderful. The restaurant room was spacious, tables were well-spaced, and welcoming. We hadn’t seen each other for so long, we didn’t look at the menu for a long time. Our waiter was patient and kind, understanding our need for time to yak! Then the food came. It was delicious! I got the tomato bisque soup and Brussel sprouts. My friend got the lobster ravioli. YUM! A fantastic experience, especially in an area of the city that’s populated and hard to find comfortable, spacious, tasty food. I’d go back - might even go sit at the bar next time. Highly recommend!

A wide variety of tasty small plates and accompanying wines. We especially enjoyed the Fideos, Arroz, and Razor Clams. Both the server and the sommelier were very knowledgeable and steered our table to good choices. The only minor drawback is that the space is tight and the lighting dim - a disservice to seeing the well plated dishes.

We loved Monterey! It’s a lovely restaurant conveniently located near lots of Midtown attractions. The food and beverage presentations were impressive. We had the prime rib special and everything was cooked to perfection. The service was excellent. For dessert, the Bananas Foster was prepared table side. The presentation and taste were amazing. We can’t wait to return.
