Since 1746, the building that houses this tavern has played a part in the establishment of our nation; first as a respite for stagecoach travelers expanding westward and later as a covert rendezvous point for George Washington, Marquis de Lafayette, and other leaders of the American revolution. It is believed that during the infamous winter of 1777–1778 at Valley Forge, a major figure in the Continental Army, master military mind Friedrich Von Steuben, designated the tavern as a secret black powder munitions stash for Continental Army couriers. All the while, the tavern continued to provide food, shelter and cheer to the hungry, weary soldiers fighting for their independence. Today, we honor our historic tavern’s tradition with a mission to raise the spirits of our guests. We always enjoy our visits and keep coming back. Food and service consistently excellent. seems as if each entree is about $2-3 overpriced relative to competitors comparable dishes. modest amount of shrinkflation in portion sizes as well.

This was my first holiday dining out since I lost my mother who was my every holiday expert cook and host. At Sullivan’s Steakhouse, I received outstanding service, and I had an excellent dining experience. My server Maurice was thorough and provided me and my guest with a superior level of personalized service. The food was prepared as requested, seasoned well and five stars delicious. The atmosphere was wonderful. It was at a good holiday celebration noise level. And the few children I observed as present were well mannered and dressed nicely for the occasion. The manager Michael Pons Jr. was hands-on and very attentive to his restaurant guests. He made me feel like a valued customer. I left Sullivan’s Steakhouse feeling fantastic, so much so, that before turning in that night I made reservations for New Year’s Eve dining.
