An exceptionally stylish supper club, civilized speakeasy, a sophisticated saloon. Each of these "personae" is housed in a soaring two-story interior distinguished by a gently curving mahogany bar, fluted columns with ornate capitals, stunning original art, plush banquettes, cozy booths, starched linens, glittering glasses, and polished flatware. Stepping into Bix is like stepping into a jazz club in New Orleans 50 years ago. The room has an upper balcony around the sides, and the whole place is beautifully decorated, with a huge mural above the classic old-style bar. Service was prompt, friendly, and humorous. They made me a fine Vesper. There was a warm roll with butter at our plates, and then an amuse bouche came shortly after. My half-dozen oysters were sweet and fresh. The lobster pasta had plenty of large chunks of lobster and was delicious. The poached pear dessert came with a big dollop of whipped cream on the side. There was a jazz piano trio playing classics, and even though we were only about 20 feet away, we could talk above the music (but it was good enough to just sit back and listen to). All in all, this was a great experience. It's not cheap, but not insane either. I will definitely be back.

We always enjoy Foreign Cinema. They are great about accommodating my wheelchair, the food is fantastic, and the service is always excellent. We love it.
